The Rowing Club
The Rowing Club de Marseille is a centenary sports association of public utility located in the heart of the city of Marseille in the Anse de la Réserve.
Our members are both experienced competitors and young people, as well as rowing lovers. For several years, we have been collaborating with schools: middle schools, high schools of Marseille in sports section and students of the University of the Mediterranean.
Our track record covers both sea rowing (Our Junior girls are French champions in sea rowing in 2017, our Masters Men French champions in 2020)... and river rowing. Our Cadets were champions of France of rowing of sea.
Three of our J18 have been selected in the French Beach Rowing team for the World Championships in October 2021 in Portugal after having obtained the title of French Champions J18 in mixed boat (Men / Women) at the French Sea Rowing Championships. (September 2021). (September 2021).
This new practice of rowing wanted by the International Federation of Rowing Societies, aims to make our activity at sea "fun" and visible from the beach.
Not to mention our two Paralympic Champions among our "river" competitors: Nathalie Benoit (Olympic vice-champion at the London Games) and Rémy Taranto (Bronze medal in longboat at the 2021 European Championships) who each won a Bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
